Is Harborline the court?

No. We are a private company. Qualification, excuse, and postponement belong only to the United States district court named on your summons or questionnaire.

I got a postcard, not a summons. Is that real?

Yes. Most districts start with a juror qualification questionnaire. Federal law requires a response. Completing it does not, by itself, put you in a jury box. How the process starts.

How do I find the right court?

Open Find your court and type the state. Or type the county on county search. Then use the court’s own .gov button. Backup: Federal Court Finder.

What is eJuror?

That district’s online questionnaire and status tool. Login is on the court’s site, usually with the 9-digit number on the paper. Harborline is not eJuror. Details.

Who is qualified?

Citizen, 18 or older, one year in the district, able to read, write, understand, and speak English, no disqualifying condition that cannot be accommodated, no pending felony charge of that gravity, and no felony conviction unless civil rights were restored. Full list.

What does federal jury pay?

$50 a day of attendance under 28 U.S.C. § 1871. A judge may add $10 after 10 petit days on one case, or 45 grand-jury days. Federal employees receive salary instead of the fee. Mileage is the rate that court prints. Run the estimator.

Does my job have to keep paying me?

Federal law protects the job. It does not require a private employer to keep paying wages. Read § 1875, the wage note on your state page, and your handbook.

Someone called and said I have a warrant.

Hang up. A federal court will not demand gift cards, a wire, or your Social Security number by phone. Call the number printed on the written packet. Scam page.

What does the $49 kit actually do?

Can you get me excused?

No. That is the whole fence. If you want a lawyer, use a lawyer licensed in that state or the bar referral line. Harborline does not match counsel.
